Resource Management

Turnaround assists schools in connecting to social service and other agencies to facilitate improved access to the array of services that students and their families need.  In New York City, this has included a project in collaboration with the GNYHA FOUNDATION to create a SCHOOLS, YOUTH, AND FAMILIES search category as a part of their ON-LINE RESOURCE GUIDE.  This frequently-accessed tool facilitates access to a wide range of social service and mental health resources for schools, children, and families.  This project was partially funded by the New York State Promise Zone initiative of the NYS Office of Mental Health, as well as by a U.S. Department of Education grant for the Integration of Schools and Community Mental Health.

Additionally, the behavioral intervention systems initiated by Turnaround create a structure in each school that supports increased communication and collaboration between schools and juvenile justice, child protective services and other child and family serving agencies.
