Catherine Good speaks at Learning & the Brain Conferences

Learning and the Brain

Catherine Good, Ph.D., Senior Research Scientist at Turnaround for Children was invited to speak at three Learning & the Brain Conferences:

The organization connects educators with the latest research on the brain and learning and its implications for education. Through conferences, one-day seminars and summer institutes, Learning & the Brain provide professional development to educators including teachers, school administrators, clinicians, counselors and speech-language pathologists.

Dr. Good’s presentation, Mindsets Matter in Math, discussed how a student’s mindset – growth or fixed – plays a significant role in one’s math abilities. Furthermore, she shared specific teaching strategies that promote a growth, rather than a fixed, mindset to help many more students to feel like valued members of your classroom.
