Mike Lamb presents at Invite-Only Communities Foundation of Texas Breakfast

Mike Lamb, Executive Director, Washington, D.C. was asked to present an invite only conversation, Connecting the Dots Between Science, Stress and Student Performance, organized by The Boone Family Foundation, Communities Foundation of TexasThe Miles Foundation and The Rainwater Charitable Foundation.

The conversation provided insights into the interconnections between science, stress, and student development, including:

  • Evidence-based tools and strategies that cultivate a safe environment, reduce stress, engage children in learning and accelerate student development and academic achievement
  • Skills, mindsets and traits that comprise the “Building Blocks for Learning” enabling comprehensive student development
  • The scientific connection between poverty, stress and academic performance and how schools impacted by adversity can promote healthy development and student achievement
