Pamela Cantor, M.D. and The Three Rs Referenced in Hechinger Report

Turnaround for Children’s Pamela Cantor, M.D. and The Three Rs: Relationships, Routines and Resilience, were cited in a Hechinger Report article by Liz Willen titled “Coronavirus becomes unprecedented test for teacher-student relationships.”

In the article, Willen spotlights the struggles teachers are having maintaining relationships with students while most schools remain closed for the rest of the academic year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

While researching this topic, Willen states that she relied on trauma experts to help understand the importance of student-teacher relationships particularly during challenging times.

“For additional perspectives on the student-teacher relationship during coronavirus times, I turned to trauma experts including Pamela Cantor, who started the nonprofit Turnaround for Children. On a recent conference call, Cantor said it’s important during this period for students to maintain relationships with family, friends, teachers and people they trust. She pushes the three R’s – relationships, routine and resilience.
