Turnaround for Children Founder and Senior Science Advisor Pamela Cantor, M.D. presented at ExcelinEd‘s EdPalooza conference.

On December 1, Cantor participated in a fireside chat with Jim Shelton and Tom Vander Ark. “COVID-19 and Disruptive Reconstruction: Making the American Dream Real Again…and for All,” began with a conversation on how the COVID-19 pandemic has revealed inequities in education. The group went on to discuss the science of learning and development and whole-child design, and how that science could be used to inform practice and policy going forward.

Cantor also took part in a panel discussion on December 3, along with Laina Cox, Tom Vander Ark and LeeAnne Cornyn. “Connecting the Dots Between the Science of Learning, Human Potential, Practice and Policy” focused on how to create learning environments that unleash the potential of every student. The panelists discussed the science of learning and development, how that knowledge can be used to inform education policy and be used in schools to meet the social, emotional, cognitive and academic needs of all young people.
