Pamela Cantor, M.D. Presents Jerry M. Wiener, M.D. Lecture at George Washington University

Turnaround for Children Founder and Senior Science Advisor, Pamela Cantor, M.D., presented the Sixteenth Annual Jerry M. Wiener Lecture, sponsored by The School of Medicine & Health Sciences at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

The topic of Dr. Cantor’s presentation was “Turnaround for Children: Taking Neuroscience from the Lab to the Classroom for Children with Adversities of Poverty.”

According to Dr. Cantor’s remarks, “A positive context can override the negative. Schools and classrooms designed for positive context in the form of deep relationships, rich learning experiences and the intentional development of critical skills and mindsets will drive the development of the brain, the expression of our genetic potential and the acceleration of learning. And if we actually did this, this would become the experiential truth, that thriving is an attainable goal for each and every child.”
