Pamela Cantor, M.D. Quoted in Forbes Blog on Curiosity and Creativity

Turnaround Founder and Senior Science Advisor, Pamela Cantor M.D. was cited in the Forbes article, “How To Unblock Curiosity And Build Creativity.”

Written by Tom Vander Ark, the article examines how curiosity, and in turn creativity, can be negatively impacted by stress, and why it is a skill that must be nurtured in children, especially during the pandemic. The author quotes Dr. Cantor and cites the Building Blocks for Learning as a key demonstration of the importance of curiosity.

From the article:

“The effects of stress are many and they particularly affect foundational skill development (the bottom two rows of the framework) and this will affect the development of many of the higher order skills including curiosity,” said Turnaround founder Dr. Pamela Cantor. “This is especially significant now.”

The article goes on to suggest that schools need a system of Tiered Supports that give students the space and permission needed to be creative in the classroom.
