Turnaround for Children Joins the COVID-19 Education Coalition in Support of CCCERA

Turnaround for Children joins members of the COVID-19 Education Coalition to support the Coronavirus Child Care and Education Relief Act (CCCERA) and to call for an increase in federal FY21 education appropriations during the coronavirus pandemic.

The CCCERA bill was introduced in June by Senators Patty Murray and Chuck Schumer to address the national child care and education crises and to provide relief to students, educators and their families during the pandemic. The bill also proposes “$175 billion in additional K-12 education stabilization funds, 20 percent of which must be set aside by school districts to address students’ learning loss, including providing professional development to educators and other staff on how to effectively implement distance learning.”

In addition, the Coalition urges Congress to pass the Supporting Children with Disabilities During COVID-19 Act, which would aid students with disabilities and provide further funding for the FY21 appropriations bill that could help schools manage fallout from the pandemic.
