2016 Conference on Adverse Childhood Experiences
Hosted by the Center for Youth Wellness, the theme of the 2016 Conference on Adverse Childhood Experiences is “Awareness to Action.” The event’s goals include:
- Strengthen the movement to elevate ACEs as a public health crisis with emerging solutions
- Expand the network of cross-sector leaders committed to addressing ACEs and toxic stress
- Share insights and best practices and develop new ideas for addressing ACEs and toxic stress
- Spur action to address ACEs and toxic stress in communities
Turnaround for Children’s Chief Program Officer, Derek Smith, presented at the conference on a panel entitled, “Early Identification and Promising Interventions in Middle Childhood.” The panel also included Chris Blodgett, Director Child and Family Research Unit, Washington State University and Joyce Dorado, Co-Founder and Director of UCSF Healthy Environments and Response to Trauma in Schools (HEARTS).
