DC Public Education Fund Launches DCPS Becoming, Including Contributions from Turnaround

The DC Public Education Fund launched a new mental health initiative, DCPS Becoming, including important contributions from Turnaround for Children.

The $18 Million fund was created to address childhood trauma and mental health challenges impacting students at DC Public Schools. Based in brain science, the initiative aims to better equip districts to provide whole child support to students experiencing trauma and mental health issues.

DC Education Fund plans to use the $18M fund to redesign DCPS policies and practices to address the scientific impacts of trauma on learning and development. This includes human development training programs for educators, creating healing care clinics, and more.
