Turnaround for Children Joins Deans for Impact to Support PATHS to Tutor Act
Turnaround for Children has signed on in support of the Partnering Aspiring Teachers with High-Need Schools (PATHS) to Tutor Act.
The PATHS to Tutor act is a bipartisan bill introduced by by Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), with Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) and Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) that aims to mobilize future teachers as tutors in “high-need areas or hard-to-staff schools”. The legislation would expand access to high-quality tutoring, provide students with academic and social and emotional support, and strengthen the pipeline of future teachers by providing real opportunities to practice classroom skills.
Turnaround supports this bill along with several other partner organizations, including Deans for Impact, CASEL, The Education Trust, Teach for America, and more.
