Turnaround for Children Founder and Senior Science Advisor Pamela Cantor, M.D. was a speaker in the panel discussion, “Bright Spots: Resilience and School Communities in the Time of Covid-19,” hosted by Newsela.

Dr. Cantor was joined by EL Education Chief Academic Officer, Ron Berger, Cajon Valley Union School District Superintendent, David Miyashiro, and Newsela Chief Academic Officer, Dan Cogan-Drew. The panel discussed how parents, caregivers, and learners have worked together to create new learning contexts and innovative solutions to challenges faced during the pandemic. The group also described how these innovations influenced their own work, sharing stories of educators incorporating whole-child design into their practices and keeping relationships at the center of learning.
