Pamela Cantor, M.D. Joins Panel on Mental Health and Wellness in Schools

Turnaround for Children Founder and Senior Science Advisor, Pamela Cantor, M.D., joined the panel discussion, “Achieving Mental Health and Wellness in Schools,” hosted by Learning First Alliance.

The panel was presented as part of a series for Public Schools Week on creating safe, equitable, engaging public schools. Cantor was joined by April D. Turner, Ph.D., Alma Lopez, MA, and Christopher Seeley, MSW in a discussion that was moderated by AIR‘s David Osher.

The group answered questions on supporting the mental health of students, educators and school communities and outlined the steps needed to address ongoing issues of stigma, access and equity. Panelists closed by recommending helpful tools and resources, including the Design Principles playbook developed by Turnaround and the Learning Policy Institute.
