Ben Fenton Presents at the CCSSO Annual National and State Collaborative for Educator Effectiveness Summit

Ben Fenton, Senior Advisor, Systemic Impact represented Turnaround for Children at the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) Annual National and State Collaborative for Educator Effectiveness (NSCEE) Summit. The event, hosted May 24-46 in St. Louis, Missouri, addressed state-level education policymakers.

This year’s summit theme, “States Leading for Equity,” focused on CCSSO’s Leading for Equity paper, driving states to discuss how educator workforce issues can highlight and make gains for equity. Discussions included learning strategies, tools and resources relevant to the state role and state levers for advancing equity.

Fenton led a breakout session titled “Mitigating Impacts of Poverty on Education” that addressed the impact of poverty on education and learning and Turnaround’s approach to advancing healthy student development and academic achievement for all students.
