Center for Whole-Child Education Presents on Creating the Conditions for Learning and Reading in Project ARISE Fall Workshop Series

The Center for Whole-Child Education (formerly known as Turnaround for Children) will present on a whole-child approach to learning and reading as part of Project ARISE’s Fall Workshop series.

The Center’s presentation, “Creating the Conditions for Learning and Reading,” will take place on September 14, 2023 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Pacific time. Topics covered will include:

• An overview of the science of learning and development and whole-child approaches and practices
• Setting the conditions for learning so all students thrive, and
• Connecting executive functions (EF) and literacy

Project ARISE (Accelerating Reading Intervention for Systemic Excellence), from the Contra Costa County Office of Education, is a groundbreaking initiative designed to equip educators across California with evidence-based resources and strategies to propel literacy instruction to new heights based on the science of learning and development.

The Project ARISE Fall Workshop series is virtual and free and open to all California educators. The series is part of a broader effort that brings together partners including Contra Costa County Office of Education, the San Diego County Office of Education, Glenn County Office of Education, and the California Department of Education. Future sessions will feature partners TNTP and the National Center on Intensive Intervention at the American Institutes for Research (AIR)
