Citi Foundation Community Progress Makers Convening

The Urban Institute, in collaboration with the Citi Foundation, hosted a discussion on innovative strategies and practices that promote upward mobility entitled, Promoting Economic Mobility: Putting Evidence to Action in Communities. The event focused on the need to identify and address barriers that prevent individuals and families from moving up the economic ladder, as well as exploration of emerging research and place-conscious practices for cities, neighborhoods and workplaces.

The convening brought together all 40 Community Progress Makers for the first time, including Turnaround for Children. Derek Smith, Chief Program Officer and Michael Lamb, Executive Director, Washington, D.C. presented as part of the Education and Youth Deep Dive by Affinity conversation.
