Listen: Pamela Cantor, M.D. Cited On NPR’s All Things Considered
NPR Education Correspondent Anya Kamenetz cited Turnaround for Children Founder and Senior Advisor, Pamela Cantor, M.D., on NPR’s All Things Considered, in a segment titled “Child Welfare Advocates Say Recreation Is Necessary For Migrant Children.”
In conversation with the radio program’s host, Ari Shapiro, Kamenetz shared:
“A very simple thing that Dr. Cantor told me is that when your brain is being bombarded with stress hormones every day, you actually need to move your body even more than usual so you can get oxygen to your brain. And this oxygenation – it helps buffer potentially long-term damage.”
