Michael Lamb on Alliance for Excellent Education Critical Window Podcast

Michael Lamb, Turnaround for Children’s Executive Director for Washington, D.C., joined the Alliance for Excellent Education on their Critical Window podcast, which explores “the rapid changes happening in the body and the brain during adolescence.”

During the episode, Lamb discussed the impact stress and trauma can have on children’s health and learning and what educators can do to create positive environments that not only effectively support students affected by trauma, but enable all children to thrive.

According to Lamb, “You could have a wonderful lesson plan as a teacher, you could have really great, engaging content, but if that child is feeling stress…then that long-term memory won’t actually take root.”
