Pamela Cantor M.D. Collaborates on Learning Policy Institute Report on Educator Preparation
Turnaround for Children Founder and Senior Science Advisor, Pamela Cantor M.D., collaborated on “Educator Learning to Enact the Science of Learning and Development,” a report from the Learning Policy Institute.
In the publication, Linda Darling-Hammond, Lisa Flook, Abby Schachner, and Steve Wojcikiewicz, along with Dr. Cantor and David Osher, another collaborator, examine the advances made in the research of learning and development and their implications on teaching practices. The report explores the necessary transformations in educator preparation needed to aid teachers and leaders in developing the knowledge and skills in line with this research to support the learning and development of the whole child.
The report outlines the foundations of educator preparation and explores what educators need to learn and how to translate that knowledge into practice. Finally, the report offers effective strategies for developing these necessary skills, outlining key strategies and practices for educator preparation.
