Second Annual Impact Awards Dinner held April 28, 2011

Turnaround for Children hosted the second annual Turnaround Impact Awards Dinner on April 28, 2011 at the Plaza Hotel.  Honorees included Founding Board Chair Dr. Kelly Posner Gerstenhaber, NBC News for Education Nation (accepted by Luke Russert), and Grammy Award-winner and education reform advocate John Legend, for his work on the Show Me Campaign.  The evening included a live auction of one-of-a-kind experiences as well as a performance by the children’s choir of P.S. 32, a Turnaround alumni school in the Bronx.

The evening also included the inaugural presentation of the Joseph H. Flom Education Leadership Award to Principal Ted Husted, of P.S. 85 in the Bronx. This award honors the memory and work of our late Board member and friend.
