Turnaround Presents to the California Collaborative on District Reform
Turnaround Founder and Senior Science Advisor, Pamela Cantor, M.D., and Turnaround Vice President of Partner Impact, Gretchen Livesey, presented to the California Collaborative on District Reform (CCDR).
During their presentation, Dr. Cantor and Livesey explained the science of learning and development and how the compounding stress of the COVID-19 pandemic, racial inequity and widespread civil unrest may be impacting students, especially students of color.
To help children surmount the stress of this moment, Cantor introduces Turnaround’s The Three Rs framework, which centers on the importance of establishing strong relationships and routines, and building resilience. Following the presentation, Livesey led the district leaders through an exercise that showcased tools and practices from the Three Rs that educators can use remotely or in-person.
